Special tests

In addition to tests attendant to the development activities of new switching devices, the test laboratory is also in charge of routine tests (quality control) and tests or optimisations of existing type series.

Upon your request, EKL will conduct special tests such as:

• Climate tests
  

  low temperature	up to -70 °C
  dry heat	up to +250 °C
  damp heat	steady state and cyclic

• Shock and vibration tests (sinusoidal)
  

  vibration	up to 3000 Hz; up to 100 m/s²
  shock and bump	up to 300 m/s², 20 ms

• Mechanical and electrical durability tests of electrically or mechanically activated switching devices and further electromechanical or electrical devices
• Detection of B10-value
  
• Measurement of contact bounce time and closing time depending on phase-angle
• Checking of touch protection
• Investigation to contact security
• Verification of setting and tripping ranges of relays and releases
  (A fully automatic computer aided test field is available.)
